Ron and Taraleigh Crooker - Family Owners 

Ron and Taraleigh CrookerRon has been involved in the funeral business since he was a young man, working in the funeral home operated by his father. Ron has over 25 years experience as a funeral director and embalmer which includes managing Parkview and Summerland Funeral Homes from 1995 to 2002.   In 2002 Ron and family moved to Calgary to continue his education in pastoral studies.

Taraleigh and Ron returned to the Okanagan In 2006 when they purchased three local funeral homes. They reside in Penticton with their two wonderful children Josh and Hannah and the family is very active in the community.

Penticton Funeral Chapel

Penticton Funeral Chapel was established in 1908 and is the oldest funeral chapel in Penticton . It was originally located on Main Street .   Clarence "Curly" Goheen operated the funeral home and in the1960's Penticton Funeral Chapel relocated to 501 Winnipeg Street . In the 1970's, the funeral chapel was sold to John Jordon and it remained a family funeral home until 1989 when it was sold to the American company SCI.   In 2000, a fire destroyed the back of the building and renovations created the current home. In February of 2006, Penticton Funeral Chapel became a family operated business with the purchase by Ron and Taraleigh Crooker under the umbrella name of Providence Funeral Homes.

Parkview Funeral Home (Established 1983)

Parkview Funeral Home

Parkview Funeral Home was established in 1983 by Werner Henseleit and his family on the 200 block of Martin Street in Penticton . Later they purchased a house on the corner of Bennett and Calgary Avenue to renovate and function as a full service funeral home. In 1987, Parkview underwent major renovations and a larger chapel and reception area was added. In 1998, Parkview was sold to an American Company (SCI). In February 2006, Parkview Funeral Home once again became a family operated business with the purchase by Ron and Taraleigh Crooker of Providence Funeral Homes.

Summerland Funeral Home

The Summerland Funeral Home Rosedale Chapel facility is a heritage style building and was originally the home of John Tamblyn, principal of the Summerland High School. The Henseleit family established Rosedale Chapel in 1995 and Summerland Funeral Chapel the oldest funeral provider in Summerland was operated separately by SCI. In 1998, the American company SCI purchased Rosedale Chapel and upon purchase the two facilities were amalgamated to become Summerland Funeral Home Rosedale Chapel. In February of 2006, Summerland Funeral Home Rosedale Chapel returned to being operated as a family business with the purchase by Ron and Taraleigh Crooker of Providence Funeral Homes.

Providence Crematorium
783 Lower Bench Road, Penticton

Providence Crematorium, originally named Okanagan Crematorium, is the oldest cremation operation in the South Okanagan. It is located in the Northwest corner of Lakeview Cemetery in Penticton. It has a rustic picturesque setting, over looking Okanagan Lake and the city of Penticton .

It also is part of the Providence Funeral Homes Family being owned and operated by Ron and Taraleigh Crooker .
