Nico Altena - Funeral Director

Nico is the manager of the Penticton Funeral Chapel and feels the funeral industry gives him the opportunity to serve the world, one family at a time.

Nico has been married to Joanne for over 30 years. They have three children and six grandchildren. Nico has had the good fortune of working with teams in the funeral industry for over fifteen years. Nico and Joanne are very involved with the Summerland Baptist Church, The Penticton Noontime Rotary Club, as well as other support roles in many communities in the Okanagan Valley.

Brenda Hamilton

Brenda Hamilton - Funeral Director

Brenda is the manager of the Summerland Funeral Home Rosedale Chapel. She is a committed and caring professional who is proud of her chosen career as a licensed funeral director.

Brenda was very pleased to be recognized by the Summerland Community and Rotary Club as the 2006 recipient of the Rotary Vocational Award, presented to the individual demonstrating outstanding achievement in their chosen vocation. She and Bob, her husband of 25 years, have two wonderful adult children, Brett and Brie.

Pastor John E.C. Briscall - Community Relations & Grief Support

John joined the Providence team in the fall of 2010. He has extensive experience in both educational and pastoral counseling. John spent 18 years in public education (Teacher, Counselor, Principal and District Administration) and 30 years as an ordained pastor serving Westbank, Peachland and Tsawwassen. John presently serves as Padre to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #40 and the Penticton Naval Veterans Association. He is also RCMP Chaplain for the Penticton, Keremeos and Summerland detachments and the South Okanagan Traffic Services. John and his wife Evelyn currently reside in Penticton and have 2 children and 7 grand children. John is excited to be part of the Providence team and looks forward to serving you in this capacity.

Deanna Park - Administrative Assistant

Deanna coordinates office administration for the three Providence Chapels. Her organizational skills and background as a legal secretary help her keep everything running smoothly. Deanna's artistic flair is a great asset in the creation of Providence 's service folders and bookmarks.

After growing up in the Keremeos area Deanna moved to Penticton with her son in 1991.
