George Phillipson passed away peacefully July 2, 2017 at the age of 68 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Ruth; mother Mary Ann Phillipson; children Chris (Shelby) of Langley, BC, and Kara (Mike) of Peachland, BC; grandchildren John and Anna (Chris’ children) and Maci, Tessa, Molly, and Wyatt (Kara’s children); and siblings John (Karen) of Armstrong, BC, Jim (Cathie) of North Vancouver, BC, Kathleen (David) of North Vancouver, BC, Mike (Barb) of North Vancouver, BC, and Margaret (Brian) of North Vancouver, BC as well.
He was predeceased by his father, Clem Phillipson.
George was a proud police officer for 31 years starting with the Harbours Board Police in 1971, then joining the West Vancouver Police Department in 1974, and retiring as a detective in 2002. George was a strong freemason for 42 years and active through all those years. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather, but the most important role in his life was being the husband to his wife Ruth. They spent 50 years at each other’s side travelling through and enjoying life to the fullest.
George’s Memorial Service will be held on August 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Anglican Church, 9311 Prairie Valley Road, Summerland, BC with Alan Alcehurst and Reverend Rick Paulin officiating.
