Norma Verkljan

We can see her dancing gracefully in heaven, free from encumbrances, filled with joy, a beaming smile on her face that draws you in knowing how much you are loved.  Although the sun has set; its light and warmth will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her and experienced that love, kind gentle spirit, gracious nurturing and restoration of hope.  Norma shared with all, her life-long love of learning which flowed from her sharp inquisitive mind.  With her positive attitude and easy, outgoing personality; Norma turned hardship into learning opportunities for herself and those who received her support.  She was a born teacher who shared her knowledge and skills with ease.  She was well known for her amazing garden which became delightful meals, wonderful preserves and special recipes she loved to share.  She lived with an open heart, willing hands, quick and easy laughter, a deep love of family and friends (who became her family), always looking for the best in all she met.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 53 years Peter; survived by her loving daughter Darlene; her sisters-in-law Kay, Josey, Rita and their families; her brother-in-law Gordon and his family; her cousin Elio and his family as well as numerous nieces and nephews in BC, Alberta and California.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.
