Ed Magee of Okanagan Falls, BC passed away peacefully on January 14, 2020 in Penticton, BC, under the excellent care of Moog and Friends Hospice House staff at the age of 84 years.
Ed had a full and rich life and career. He began his career in the Canadian Air Force where he met his wife (predeceased) of 52 years. He achieved multiple undergraduate and graduate level degrees in Physics and Education to support his lengthy career as an educator and senior administrator in school boards and districts in NS and AB. He ended his career as a co-owner and broker of a real estate firm in Westlock, AB.
Ed was an avid sports fan and participated in and coached provincial, award-winning curling, volleyball and hockey teams.
As an active community member and volunteer, Ed was a life-long member of such service support groups as the Masons, the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, the Elks, local church groups, Seniors' Clubs and served as a Town Councillor in Westlock, AB.
Ed is predeceased by his wife, Beulah (nee Titus) and his sister, Kathleen Magee. He is survived by his 3 children, Deborah Urquijo, Pamela Magee and Steven Magee; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his younger brother, John Thomas Magee; sister Donna Lefebvre and loving companion and friend, Kathy Sweeten.
A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Okanagan Falls Community Church. Pastor Ron Crooker officiating.
