John died suddenly in Osoyoos on January 6 after a short period of health challenges. He grew up on the family farm in Chase, B.C. and was a lifelong B.C. resident.
He obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering at UBC and worked at Boeing for several years. This was followed by his work at BC Hydro from which he retired in 1997 after almost 30 years. He spent many years travelling the world with friends and often recalled his adventures fondly. John was an avid sportsman and fan. He excelled at golf, bowling, and pool. He was a passionate Vancouver Canucks fan from the team's inception. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his first wife Ann, his second partner, Anne MacWilliam, and his step- daughter Heather. He is survived by numerous cousins and his stepdaughter, Karen MacWilliam. Due to current restrictions, there will be no immediate service.
