Laurie Grove Obituary

Laurie Darryl Grove (GUS) entered the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Friday August 12, 2022 at the age of 73 years. He courageously dealt with Heart and Cancer issues for many years. He was born in Edmonton, AB on January 11, 1949, along with his twin sister, Lesley.

He was predeceased by his wife Joan, the love of his life, in 2013 and his sister, Wendy Cowan in 2015.

He is survived by his son Bryant (Engie) as well as his two precious grandchildren, Mariam (5) and Thomas (3). He is also survived by his twin sister, Lesley (Jim) Beiderwieden, brother, Terry (Wendy) Grove, brother-in-law, Bob Cowan, many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Laurie was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Uncle, Friend and a Cowboy at heart.

He had careers as a GWG salesman, Farrier, Business Owner, Land Appraiser and Realtor.

Gus loved to talk to anyone walking by; His faith was strong and he loved to share it. His love of family and friends was unequaled. His easy-going personality and sense of humour will be greatly missed.

Many thanks to family, friends, the Doctors and Nurses at Penticton Regional Hospital and the wonderful people at Interior Health for all the care provided for our Gus.

A Funeral Service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2800 South Main Street, Penticton, BC at 11:00 a.m. on August 25 with a luncheon and reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to either The Cardiac Wing at Penticton Regional Hospital through the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation at https://sosmedicalfoundation.com or Teen Challenge Penticton Office at https://teenchallengebc.com/locations/penticton-office/.
