Nancy Louise (Actis) Walker

We are heartbroken to announce that Nancy Louise Walker (n e Actis) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15th, 2022, at Moog & Friend’s Hospice House, Penticton, BC.

She is predeceased by her parents Elaine and Louis Actis, her brother Jeffery, and her sister Lisa.

She is survived by her spouse Darren King, and her sisters Tina Armstrong and Valerie Actis.                                                               

Nancy was born in Toronto, Ontario on February 24, 1964, and was the youngest of four. 

Nancy’s caring nature directed her to a career in Social Work. She completed a Social Work program specializing in child abuse from Renison College. Later in life, she received a Bachelor of Arts– Three-year General Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo.

Nancy and Darren made the move from Ontario to Penticton in 2019, then to Summerland in 2020. Upon arriving in Penticton, she worked for ASK Wellness Society at the newly opened Burdock House and then The Village by the Station care facility day program.

Her love of animals and nature had them on road trips every weekend exploring all that the area has to offer, bears and mountain goats becoming her favourites.

Nancy loved her dogs and spent many hours walking and taking pictures of them. She also enjoyed her garden whether it be flowers, vegetables, or fruit trees.

Remembered for her warm heart and love of life, she will also be deeply missed by her mother-in-law Dianna King, sisters-in-law April Bueler (Brian), Alison Carleton (Dave), and brother-in-law Darrell King (Carla).

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 24, 2022, 11:00 AM at Providence Funeral Homes, 13205 Rosedale Ave, Summerland, BC with a reception to follow at Dave & Alison Carleton’s, 10920 Canyon View Rd, Summerland, BC.
