August 3, 1927 – March 25, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul W. Groenewegen – husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 56 years, Nel Groenewegen; children Rene (Andrea), Ingrid (Mitch), and Vera (Peter); 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a large extended family in The Netherlands.

Paul was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was a proud member of the Dutch Infantry and in 1947 served 2 years in Indonesia. He loved the country, its people, and culture. In 1964, Paul and his wife emigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, where they raised their 3 children. In 1989, they retired to the Okanagan where Paul enjoyed his little piece of paradise, travelling and making friends.
