William Joseph Grosch

William (Bill) Grosch of Summerland, BC, died peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton, BC.   Born on May 11, 1927 in Stratford, ON, Bill was the son of the late Wilfred and Annie (Belle) Grosch. Beloved husband of the late Elinor Grosch (nee Grandison) who predeceased him on August 16, 2017.

He is survived by his loving family: daughters, Elizabeth (Chris), Margaret (Tom), Katherine (Jim); son, Bill (John); seven grandchildren, Devon, Cody, David, Laura, Sarah, Samantha, Gary; two great grandchildren, Gavin and Aiden; sister, Catherine Wilson (Don); plus many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his sister Isabel Scott.

After university, Bill spent many years working for his family’s Felt Shoe Co. and in the footwear industry. He met the love of his life, Elinor in 1950 and they spent the following 67 years together golfing, travelling, and enjoying times with his wonderful family and friends.

Despite recent declining health, he showed great strength and courage. Intelligent and funny to the last day, Bill’s quick wit and love of life will be remembered. Bill is now at peace and with the woman he loved. He will be profoundly missed by his family.

A family celebration of life will take place, with interment in Stratford, ON. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Moog & Friends Hospice staff and the Summerland Health unit for their care and support of Bill. For those who so desire, remembrances may be made to the Penticton Regional Hospital Foundation.
