Nolan has almost 20 years experience in the funeral business, starting as a young man, working in the funeral home owned by his father. Nolan is married to Abigail and they reside in Penticton with their two wonderful children Emma and Noah.
Brenda is the manager of the Summerland Chapel. Brenda and Bob, her husband of 35 years, have two adult children Brett and his wife Ann, and Brie and her husband Adam. She is a committed and caring professional who is proud of her chosen career as a licensed funeral director.
Brenda was very pleased to be recognized by the Summerland Community and Rotary Club as the 2006 recipient of the Rotary Vocational Award, presented to the individual demonstrating outstanding achievement in their chosen vocation.
Nico has had the good fortune of working with teams in the funeral industry for over twenty years. Nico feels the funeral industry gives him the opportunity to serve the world, one family at a time.
Nico has been married to Joanne for over 40 years. They have three children and six grandchildren. Nico and Joanne are very involved with the Summerland Baptist Church, The Penticton Noontime Rotary Club, as well as other support roles in many communities in the Okanagan Valley.
Funeral Director and Embalmer
Kevin Smith started employment with Providence as a funeral attendant. Subsequently he graduated from the Canadian College of Funeral Service in 2014 as a funeral director/embalmer.
Kevin is married to Lee Smith and they have three lovely daughters; Zoe, Evan and Avery.
Kevin brings an energetic personality and fresh perspective to the funeral industry, serving families with compassion and empathy.
Pastor John E. C. Briscall
Community Relations and Grief Support
John joined the Providence team in the fall of 2010. He has extensive experience in both educational and pastoral counseling. John spent 18 years in public education (Teacher, Counselor, Principal and District Administration) and 30 years as an ordained pastor serving Westbank, Peachland and Tsawwassen. John presently serves as Padre to the Penticton Naval Veterans Association. He is also RCMP Chaplain for the Penticton, Keremeos and Summerland detachments and the South Okanagan Traffic Services. John and his wife Evelyn currently reside in Penticton and have 2 children, 7 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. John is excited to be part of the Providence team and looks forward to serving you in this capacity.
Wendy is a key component of the Providence Funeral Homes team. She is our Hostess for receptions and gatherings in our Tea Room.
Lori brings a strong background and extensive experience in bookkeeping and has strengthened our team with her skills.
