LAC Christopher “Kit” Templeton (RCAF) - Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, story teller, extraordinary man. Monday morning, January 8th 2018, Chris peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family at the age of 84. Chris is survived by his beloved wife Rose, his four cherished children Wendy (Harry Nicol), Larry (Margo), Rob (Diane), Kim (Brian Marchand). Proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and two precious great-grandchildren. His sister Bev Mount, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom agree, he was the best man they have ever known. Chris was born on the 21st of September 1933, in Montreal to Maude Elizabeth and Peter Templeton, their fourth child and second son. His childhood was mostly spent with his siblings Bev, Peter John “Jack” Templeton, and Margaret “Peggy” Saul at the family’s farm in Knowlton, Quebec. On the 29th of January 1952 he was sworn into the Royal Canadian Air Force in Montreal, a year later he found himself stationed in Soellingen Germany where he would be for the next 3 years. In late August of ’54, at the airmen/women’s favourite watering hole in the village of Hugelsheim, Chris had a serendipitous meeting with the great love of his life, Miss Rose Ross. A day later on their first date to a Squadron 422 party, he introduced her to his friends by exclaiming “this sweet gal is going to be my wife”, much to the shock of Rose. They were smitten with each other and a deep, everlasting love developed quickly. After he was given the

blessing from her mother and father, Chris and Rose planned their wedding for January 29th, 1955. The years to follow were full of adventures, a successful self-made business (Air Flair), laughs and blessings beyond belief as they expanded their family together, in a house that love built. They were blessed with four children who, later in life, all found their own loves inspired by what they had seen as children. Each of the ten grandkids looked up to him with awe and were continually captivated by his stories which never lacked excessive, accurate details. More recently, the joys of life would radiate from his smile when he spent time with his great-grand babies, who developed a love of planes and (mini) golf through him. Chris was a loyal, kind and thoughtful friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand. His strength of will, vitality, and balanced emotions allowed him to be a pillar of strength and continual inspiration for everyone that was lucky enough to spend time with him. Services will be held in Penticton, BC during the warmth of summer for both family and for friends. The family will honour his memory with “Christmas in July” which was a favourite tradition of his from annual family-reunion summer vacations. A special heartfelt thank you needs to go to Dr. Paul Cobbin, Vicki, Kelly, and Dr. Solano for always taking the greatest care of him.
