David Lloyd Park
May 25, 2018 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Park. Born July 23, 1933 in Salcoats, Sask his family moved out West, settling down in Victoria where he attended Vic High and started his nursery career.
At the early age of seven Lloyd could been seen pedalling door to door on his bicycle selling plants. In 1970 he and wife Veral moved to the Comox Valley to plant their roots and open Lloyd Park Nurseries which operated from 1970-1986. Lloyd was know for his humour, generosity and community support. He was a fellow Rotarian with both Courtenay and Comox clubs and recognized for multiple Paul Harris awards as well as being recognized as one of the top fundraisers within the clubs raising money for St Josephs burn unit and many more local initiatives during his tenure.
In 2000 after a short time in Victoria, Lloyd and Veral relocated to Oliver where they purchased and operated a small nursery until 2017. In the last couple years Lloyd’s health deteriorated so has spent the last two years in residence at McKinney Place where Veral also resides.
Lloyd leaves behind his wife Veral, daughters; Crystal (Ernie), Sue and Robin, grand daughter Ashlyn his sisters Winnie(Bob) and Meg along with their family members. At Lloyd’s request there will be no service. Instead donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Victoria Foundation - Smart Foundation. ~For every bloomin thing~
