Donald Burton Obituary

 

Donald John Burton, born December 20, 1930 in Perth, Western Australia, passed away in Summerland, BC with his wife by his side May 17, 2018. He was a world traveler, photographer, journalist, nurse, RAAF Squadron member, and teacher. He was a son to Muriel and Wilfred; brother to Margaret and Elizabeth; husband to Celia; father to Dianne, Christine, Louise, and Sussan; grandfather to Mireille, Jadd, Kaisha, Benjamin, Katrina, and Josh; great grandfather to Willah; and mentor to Yuuko and so many others.

Donald loved music and words, light and dark, planting and watching things grow.  He loved to work with wood and leather and he loved a cold beer and good conversation. 

He was much loved.

His Celebration of Life will be held on June 9, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 22, 14205 Rosedale Ave., Summerland, BC.  ALL WELCOME.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Parkinson Society British Columbia, 600-890 West Pender St., Vancouver, BC V6C 1J9 would be appreciated.
