Joan Lacourse, of Penticton, BC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the age of 71 years.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She was born and raised in the lower mainland, and moved to Penticton in 1975, where she had her first child and met her husband. She met Harry working at the Penticton Inn and they were married in 1977. Joan and Harry have remained in Penticton. Joan worked at Edward’s restaurant for many years, where she used her gift of gab to bring joy and smiles to so many. She was a very pleasant person who touched the lives of many through simple conversation. All that knew Joan know she could say “I love you” with a simple smile and a wink. Joan and Harry have been members of the Bethel Tabernacle Church in Penticton for 30+ years and have made lots of great friends and memories during that time.
Joan is survived by her loving husband Harry Lacourse, her two children Norm (Angela) Lacourse and Sherri-Lynn (Geoff) Riley, her grandchildren Ashley, Sydney, Rayen, Meara and Marie, her sister Jeanne (Barry) Smillie, sister in law Marlene, close family friend Marilyn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Daniel Muir, brother Ray Muir, sister Mary Muir, grandson Logan.
Funeral services will be held at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle, 945 Main Street, Penticton, BC V2A 5E3 Friday November 30, at at 11 am.
