Frieda Metzger passed away peacefully on April 28, 2019, just six days after reaching her 88th birthday. She was born in Weingarten, Switzerland in 1931.
Frieda was a ray of light to everyone she touched. Kind, gentle, funny and loving are just a few words that aptly describe her. She was devoted to and loved her family and friends in Penticton and back home in Switzerland. Golf, bowling and fishing were among her favorite pastimes. She would often drive out to Yellow Lake all on her own and happily fish all day. She also loved to watch hockey and tennis on T.V.
Sadly, predeceased by husband Albert Metzger, whom she has now rejoined, Frieda will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Patricia “Rita” Lang and Hermina Lang, her sons Rudi (Carrie), Marcus (Maureen) and Steve, her grandchildren Marlena, Tealya (Paul), Carson (Taylor), Brian and Victoria.
A private graveside service for Frieda is being planned.
Arrangements are in the care of Providence Funeral Homes & Crematorium. Comments and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.providencefuneralhomes.com
