Johanna Kugi

It is with great sadness we share the news of the passing of our mother, Johanna Kugi on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at the age of 91.

She was born February 15th, 1928 in St. Leonhard b. S., Austria and married Max Kugi on October 2, 1950 who predeceased her in death in 2008.

Johanna was a loving wife and mother who treasured her children. She especially loved her role as Oma to her seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Johanna was a kind, gentle and compassionate person, always making people around her feel welcome, touching the lives of all who knew her. She worked as a homemaker, seamstress and was a passionate gardener.

Johanna will be sadly missed by her surviving sons John (daughter-in-law Kelly, granddaughters Danielle and Elizabeth), Robert (daughter-in-law Tracy, grandchildren Ryan and Jillian), Harald, and Mario (daughter-in-law Dianne, grandsons Thomas and Alex), and daughter-in-law Kathleen (grandson Michael, granddaughter-in-law Erin, great granddaughter Scarlett); sadly predeceased by her oldest son Max in 2017.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral ceremony on Thursday, May 9th at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church 361 Wade Street with Father Rex Velmonte. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.  All are invited to attend the reception at 1:00 p.m. at her home 292 Orchard Avenue.
