Josef William Zagrodney
September 15, 1995 – May 27, 2018
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Josef Zagrodney while travelling in Europe. He was, and always will be, treasured by his father Ken; his mother Janet Jory; and his brother Graham; as well his grandparents Bill and Midge Jory; extended family; and many friends. Josef graduated from Summerland Secondary in 2013 and completed his Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) from UBCO at the head of his class in 2017. He had just finished his first year of law school at UVIC. Josef will be remembered as a master hugger, summer camp mentor, hockey referee and teammate, lover of dogs, aspiring writer of epic novels, and aficionado of craft beer and quality spirits. His ready smile, quirky sense of humour, passion for justice, and his wisdom and humanity beyond his years touched all he met. He truly wished to right all the wrongs in the world.
Arrangements are being made to bring Josef home. An opportunity for friends and family to celebrate his life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Summerland Baptist Church, 10318 Elliott St., Summerland, BC.
