On January 7, 2020 Juen Shellard passed away at the age of 93 years.
Juen is survived by her children Sandy Woods, Violet (Richard) Nelson and George (Vivian) Kerr; 10 grand children; 20 great-grandchildren and brother Don (Verna).
She is predeceased by her husband, James Shellard; son-in-law, Mervin; sisters, Rena, Hazel, Iva and Laurel; brothers, Lloyd and Bud and parents, George and Martha Berkey.
Juen was a remarkable lady who supported her family whenever needed. Ask any family member and they would agree. She settled in the Okanagan near Keremeos in the 1970’s, finally settling in Penticton to live near two of her sisters. She met and became friends with a group of seniors who made it their business to meet at Tim Horton’s on Main Street. She was an artist at heart, crocheting, knitting and creating dress-hats and slippers to cover dolls she found at local flea market in Penticton. These went to her family members to act as a bed ornament placed on bed spread. Her creative mind always amazed her family whenever they found something in her belongings. She was an adventurer, a fisherman and a world traveller doing her bucket list of things we all do.
She will be sorely missed by all that knew her and loved her. Ask anyone she knew about her and Peter the pig … such a story!
At Juen's request there will be no formal service.
