Maria Sabina deMedeiros

Maria Sabina deMedeiros passed away peacefully, joining her gold stone in heaven, on Sunday June 4th 2017. Maria was born on May 25 1932 in Arrifes, Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal. The middle of five children she married the love of her life, Camilo, at the young age of 18, in 1950. After having two boys Armindo(Lori) and Antonio the family immigrated to Canada in 1960, settling in Terrace, BC, where she had her third child, Lucia(Wray).

After thirty-two years in Terrace, Maria and Cam followed their children to Penticton BC. Maria’s passion was her children, cooking, gardening, sewing and socializing with her close friends. Maria leaves behind her three children, Armindo, Tony and Lucy, six grandchildren, Shane Earl(Krystle) Jennifer deMedeiros, Bobbi Earl, Heather deMederios(Joel), Christina deMedeiros and Micheal deMederios as well as five great grandchildren Jerome, Sean, Rylan, Karlyna and Payton and two brothers, Gil(Isara) and Victor(Ginette). Also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Maria is predeceased by her husband Cam, brothers Manuel, Edwino and Antonio, brother in law Joe deMedeiros, sister in law Alda Carreiro,

Maria will be buried Saturday June 10 2017. Catholic service will be held at St John Vianney Catholic church 361 Wade Avenue West, Penticton at 11:30 am with an internment at 1 pm at Lakeview Cemetery. Viewing and prayers will held Friday June 9 2017 at 7 pm at St John Vianney. All are invited to attend a gathering to celebrate Marias life at Providence Funeral Home following the graveside service.
