Marion Amelia (Woods) Skaar

In loving memory of Marion Amelia Skaar of Summerland, BC who passed away peacefully in Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton, BC December 10, 2017 at the age of 90 years.  She will be remembered and sadly missed by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Dale McEwen as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Oscar Alfred Skaar and her son Kenneth Garnet Skaar.

Mom spent and enjoyed 58 years farming with her husband Oscar and also her 22 years in Mesa, Arizona.   She loved a great joke and her many trips to Las Vegas.  “We will miss you, Mom.”

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.

I’m following the path God laid, you see.

I took His hand when I heard His call.

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work, or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.

I found the peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joys.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,

Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow;

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I savored much,

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.

God wanted me now, He set me free.
