Rita also will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Romeo, Renald (Paula), Laurette (Bruce) Sansom, Marianne (Clement) Beaulac and her sister in law Ingrid and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was born December 7 1927 on a farm near Kincaid, SK to Ernest and Yvonne Brisebois. She was the 3rd oldest of 8, in a loving devout family. She spoke fondly of her childhood, playing ball and doing chores. She was game for anything and had a zest for fun. Rita graduated from Jesus Marie Convent in Gravelbourg. She attended the Moose Jaw Normal School in 1945. She began teaching school, mostly in southern Saskatchewan, but also a bit in Prince Rupert and Saskatoon.
Rita married the great love of her life, Laurent, August 3 1949 in Gravelbourg on a runaway weekend. They were happily married for 43 years until Larry's passing on January 26, 1992. Raising their family in a Catholic French Canadian culture was important to them. Despite multiple relocations for work, they became valued community members and made good friends wherever they lived. Communities lived in were Ponteix, SK, Val Marie, SK, Gravelbourg, SK, Lafleche, SK, Prince Rupert, BC, Saskatoon, Sk and lastly Penticton. Here in Penticton, Rita was an active faithful member of St. Ann's Parish and enjoyed golf, bridge and hardanger. She was a member of the CWL, volunteered for Soupateria and with the bandage wrapping group. Rita was an integral thread in a rich and beautiful tapestry of family and friends. A creative and artistic woman, she knew her own mind and generously shared it; really generously shared it.  The funeral mass was celebrated at St. Ann's Roman Catholic
Church on Sept 9, 2018 in Penticton BC.  The family wishes to invite Family and Friends to join them for a Eucharistic Celebration at Notre Dame D Auvergne Catholic Church in Ponteix SK., on July 29 at 11:00 am.  Following Mass, Rita's ashes will be interred with her husband and son in the Ponteix Cemetery.  Luncheon will be served at the Parish Hall.   Many thanks to the sea of family and friends who supported mom in her valiant battle with cancer.
