It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the very sudden and unexpected passing of Ralph Charles Hughes on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the age of 75. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.  Ralph was predeceased by his mother Bessie Maund in 1984 and his father Charles Hughes in 1947.  Ralph is survived by his loving wife Lucille Hughes of Summerland, BC; his loving children James (Chelsea) Hughes of Calgary, AB, Kathleen (Dave) Fiorillo of Surrey, BC, and Diane (Jim) Haddow of Summerland, BC; and stepdaughters Karen Mulligan of Penticton, BC and Kara (Anthony) McCabe-Atkinson of Red Deer, AB.  He had many grandchildren and a godson whom he loved very much: Hudson Hughes, Harper Hughes, Connor Baillargeon, Lauren Fiorillo, Marissa Fiorillo, Isabella Fiorillo, Elizabeth Haddow, Karli and Michelle Mulligan, Sean and David Atkinson, and Skylar Noe-vack (godson).  He is also survived by his brother Jim Hughes (Rose and family) of Edmonton, AB and cousin Edward Oaks (and family) also of Edmonton, AB.  

Ralph was an avid Toronto Blue Jays and Penticton Vees fan and he enjoyed local traveling and spending time with family and friends, as well as his beloved furry friends, Taco and Maddie. Ralph’s sudden passing will leave a hole in all of our hearts. He was loved by all and will never be forgotten. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. A Celebration of Life will be planned and announced at a later date.
