Rose Medd Obituary

Rose Wyatt Medd passed away at Westview Place in Penticton, BC on November 23, 2018 at the age of 90 years.  Rose is survived by son Dorian (Jennifer) of Wilmette, IL; daughter Marilynn (Charlie) of Dallas, OR; daughter Connie (Terry) and son-in-law Lex, all of Penticton.  Eight grandchildren; Darryl, Jennifer, Christopher, Jaclyn, Deanna, Tyson, Julian, Milan and one great grandchild, Josie; sister Connie and many nieces and nephews.  Rose was predeceased by her husband Erny, daughter Charlene, sisters Agnes, Gladys, Margaret and Tillie and brothers Ernie, Edwin and Norman.

Rose was born in Nestow, AB on June 5, 1928.  The Wyatt family moved to Penticton in 1939.  She and Erny wed in 1947 and were married for 62 years.  Marilynn and Charlene were born in Penticton before the family moved to California, where Dorian and Connie were born.  They then lived in Oregon before moving back to Penticton in 1968.

Through the years Rose worked at The Cannery, as an office assistant, seamstress, bookkeeper and store manager of a yarn shop.  Rose was a long-time member of the Pythian Sisters since 1970.  She loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, making quilts and crafts of all kinds.  She spent many hours in the car traveling on road trips with the family and years later enjoyed going to England.  She will be dearly missed.  A Memorial Service will be held December 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at Providence Funeral Home, 1258 Main Street, Penticton.
