WELDON, Alan Robert
June 10, 1956 – May 7, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Al Weldon of Penticton, BC announce his death following a courageous battle with cancer.
Al grew up in Sackville, New Brunswick and raised a family of five children. He will be sadly missed by his partner, Adele; sons, Jeffrey of Moncton, NB, Jeremy (Katy) of Sackville, NB and Nathan; step children, Natasha (Mike) and Brendan (Jami); six grandchildren; sister, Anne (Stanley) Dixon of Sackville, NB; aunt, Marion Carter of Sackville, NB; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Al was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Geraldine and one daughter.
Al worked at many jobs and did a tremendous amount of volunteer work in his community. He coached minor football and boxing, helped in local food banks and the community garden, was involved in the Hunger Ride and then the Hunger Dip in 2019 and was actively involved in helping other recovering addicts. He loved helping people and always had a smile on his face. His happiness was evident to all.
Memorial Service will be held June 9, 2019 at 2 pm, at the Penticton Salvation Army Church, 2469 South Main Street, Penticton, BC.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army Food Bank/Hunger Dip or the PRH Cancer Clinic care of the South Okanagan Medical Foundation.
