Barbara (McClure) Robert-Boothe

Barbara passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the age of 87. Barbara was born in the old hospital on April 18, 1936, in Summerland, BC. She graduated from Summerland High and also attended MacDonald Elementary from grades – 1-8.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Bernard Robert, of 58 years, on January 2nd, 2014; her son Mark Robert on November 10th, 2020; her sister Betty Capozzo; and her parents William and Mildred McClure. She leaves behind her son David Robert (Joyce); her stepchildren, Gord Boothe (Dawn), Laurel Boothe, Lisa Santos (Bethel) of Seattle, Rhonda Guthrie; her grandchildren, Craig Robert, Tommy Robert, Chelsea Robert, Natalia, Mathew and Dillon Robert of Toronto, Victoria Webb (Boothe), Zoe Martell, Luc, Gabriela, and Katarina Santos; bother Bill McClure; and niece Rosalinda Brooks (Daryl).

Barbara resided most of her life in Summerland and from 1972-2014, she owned and operated Robert’s Fruit Market and Orchard. She served on many committees: OK College, Otter’s Swim Club, Chamber of Commerce, Parkdale Place, Hospital Axillary, and Meals on Wheels.

On March 22nd, 2015, she married Doug Boothe of Summerland, BC. They shared many great years together, spending winters in Arizona, attending Bridge tournaments, playing golf, and making many new friends.

A Memorial will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., at Summerland Baptist Church, 10318 Elliott Street, Summerland, BC. Online attendance options will be provided at a later date. The family welcomes donations to charity as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.
