Barry Charles Wicker passed away after a lengthy illness on September 1, 2021, at the age of 73 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his wife Merna, Children Carol Lewis (Doug) of Penticton and Sharon Thomson (Blaine) of Oliver, seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Barry was sadly predeceased by his son Robert Richardson and brother Ian Wicker.
Barry was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and farmed there with his family until his early teens when they moved to Chilliwack. He would go on to work with BC Rail operating and maintaining heavy machinery for over thirty-five years. After retiring from BCR, Barry went on to drive taxi in Summerland for a number of years.
It was said that Barry could build anything. This extended from playhouses to the real thing he not only did the framing, but also ran all the electrical. Barry especially loved golf. He was passionate about it and was known for it.
The family is planning a memorial service at the Summerland Alliance Church at a later date.
