Bernard Peter Saunders

Saunders, Bernard: May 7, 1933 - July 12, 2023 It is with much sadness we announce the passing on Bernie Saunders, at the age of 90 at Haven Hill Retirement Centre. Bernie is survived by his wife Ann, sister Jane, brother Don, daughters Elaine, Karen, Laura and son Tim and several grand children. Bern was born in Halifax, but spent his school years in Toronto. He joined Air Canada as an airline mechanic in the 50's and worked there for 33 years. He moved to Penticton in 1997 where he married his high school sweetheart. In Penticton he was very active with St. Andrew's Presbyterian church. He also spent many happy hours volunteering on the Kettle Valley Railway. He also joined the recycling team at the hospital and volunteered there for many years, and helped out with the lawns at the Penticton Lawn Bowling Club. Bernie will be remembered for his kindness and happy personality. He was always willing to lend a hand. A celebration of life will be held   August 26th at 2 PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Penticton.
