Brigitte Dorothea Kopp

Brigitte Kopp peacefully and quietly exited this life on March 13, 2023, at the age of 90 years. She believed we all experience numerous lives and was excited to join her late husband, Christian, who predeceased her in 2013.

Brigitte grew up in Dresden, Germany, and from the beginning, was an avid animal and garden lover, surrounded by both from an early age. She and Christian met in high school and were married in June, 1958. Shortly after, they escaped communist East Germany to start their lives in Zürich, Switzerland. Brigitte supported Christian in his architecture profession, as well as learning through books everything from public speaking, vegetarian lifestyle, natural healing, gardening, and real estate. They built their first home in Buchholz, Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1985 and building their dream home in Naramata.

Brigitte, along with Christian, most loved time spent in their garden, going for walks with friends, cooking, and hiking mountains. She was proud to call the Okanagan (and her piece of Naramata heaven) home. She found joy in good music, quiet conversation, and - later in life - avocado sushi and chocolate ice cream.

While we all have to go one day (something Brigitte reminded us of regularly), she will be sorely missed in this life by her nephew, Alexander and his family, along with her long-time friends, Jan Vozenilek and Ryan Cope, plus all those who had the good fortune to cross paths with her, both near and far.
