Obituary

PLEASE NOTE - THE DATE OF THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE HAS BEEN CHANGED.

The family of Bruno Paolo Gagno are heartbroken to announce his passing on August 2, 2023, after a short, but courageous fight. He was surrounded by family and is now at peace.

Bruno was an outstanding man, generous to a fault, an amazing, loving husband to Stacey and an awesome, loving father to Ryan, who he will always be so proud of.  A great brother, and friend to many. A second Dad to several hockey billets, giving them sound advice about life and hockey.

Bruno’s sense of humour, amazing stories and big smile could light up any room.

Bruno grew up in Vancouver and was a proud East Van Boy who took pride in his Italian Heritage. His love for good food meant Bruno was an excellent chef. Bruno was also an avid fisherman and could tell tall tales with the best of them.

Bruno was predeceased by his mother and father, Luciana and Romano and by his brother, Robert.

Bruno is survived by his wife, Stacey; son, Ryan (Kayla); brother, Frank; nephew, Emilio (Tina) and niece, Christina; special friends who Bruno considered brothers, Bruce and Terry, and many extended family and friends.

Stacey and Ryan would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses and Doctors, in the ICU at both Penticton Regional Hospital and Kelowna General Hospital for taking such good care of Bruno. Their dedication to their patients and families is amazing.

Stacey and Ryan would also like to thank all of our family and friends who have offered help and support during this difficult time.  It takes a village and we definitely felt our village wrap their arms around us.

A Celebration of Bruno’s Life will be held at Slackwater Brewing in Penticton, BC on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please join us and raise a glass to toast the great man that he was.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the OSNS Legacy Foundation would be appreciated. This Child and Youth organization serves children in our community with Pediatric Developmental Challenges. https://osnslegacyfoundation.org/ways-to-give/
