It is with great sadness that the family of Bryan Martin Schmidt announce that he passed away peacefully on May 29, 2022 at the age of 73 years.
He was surrounded by family shortly before and after his passing. Bryan was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm in Major, Saskatchewan. He was married to his best friend and love of his life Gwen (nee Stefanson) for 45 years. They have 4 beautiful daughters and 5 amazing grandchildren. Bryan was the best son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather that we were all blessed to have. If you had the pleasure of knowing Bryan you know he was loving, generous, kind, always lent a helping hand, and had a great sense of humor. He always made everyone laugh and had an energy that touched everyone around him. Bryan and Gwen are both Christians and recovering alcoholics. He met the love of his life through Alcoholics Anonymous where they then spent their journey together through sobriety. They would pray together every night, their prayer always started with “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” Survived by wife Gwen, children Colleen (Ed), Cyla (Mat), Carrie (Bryan), Christie (Daniel), and Grandchildren Kailee, Mackenzie, Ethan, Leah, and Zane. Predeceased by parents Paul and Anastasia Schmidt, brothers Donald and David, and his sister Mary. Also survived by siblings Claudia (Leonard), Monica, Joe (Sue), Bernie (Bruce), Pete (Maryanne), Cecilia (Ron), Keith (Gina), Mike (Sue), Kathy (Michel), Marcy (Ron), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be missed by all and forever have a piece of our hearts.
