Cindy-Lou Royer Obituary

Cindy-Lou Royer née Hooper passed away peacefully at the Summerland Seniors Village on February 14, 2021 at the age of 61 with her family and friends by her side.

Cindy was born in Princeton, BC on May 20, 1959.  She moved to Summerland with her mom and siblings in grade 7 and spent the rest of her life there.  After graduating from Summerland Secondary School, Cindy married and had two children, Joshua and Nadine Royer.

Cindy ran a child daycare in her own home for many years so that she could enjoy raising her own children while earning an income for her family.  Throughout her working career she enjoyed making pictures at Orchard Enterprises and assisting customers at Summerland 5-$1.00 Store for nine years and later at Home Hardware.  Cindy’s work years were cut short and she retired early due to illness but she never lost her luster for life.

Cindy was a fabulous cook and always had family sitting at her table.  Cindy loved all animals and was a friend to everyone she met; she always saw the good in people.  She was always happy and had an infectious smile and laugh.  Cindy loved to be a mom and auntie and would do anything for her family.

Cindy will be sadly missed and always loved by her family:  son Joshua Royer; daughter Nadine Royer; sister Terry Sedawie (Arnie Hewer); brother Dale Hooper (Karen); nieces and nephews Gordie Sedawie (Holly Crosby), Andrew Sedawie (Suzanne Lindsay Newton), Garret Sedawie, Amanda Hooper (Andrew Knudsen), and Allyssa Hooper; Auntie Pat Burnett and her three children Steve, Len, and Joanne; great nieces and nephew Kadence, Ashlin,  Harlow, and Gracen Sedawie; and many friends including Michelle Frame, Verna Hetterley, and Phyllis Dingwall.

Cindy was sadly predeceased by her parents Lois and Norman Hooper; and grandparents John and Audrey Fritz.

Cindy would like to thank Dr. Westby, all the staff at Summerland Seniors Village, and the entire community of Summerland for all their support over the years.

Cindy, you will never be forgotten.  We love you and we hope that you can now rest in pain-free peace!
