Dennis George Hill

The family is saddened to announce that Dennis George Hill recently passed away peacefully in Penticton at the family home on March 7, 2023, at the age of 91.

Dennis was the only child of Morris Edmonds Hill and Constance Violet Hill and was born on March 30, 1931 in Plymouth, England. Dennis married his bride Norma Barbara Hill in August 1954 an together they immigrated to Canada in 1957 and settled in Penticton, BC.

Prior to arriving in Canada, Dennis served for a period of time in the British Army with the First Devon Regiment Army (Devon England). Dennis was a proud member of the Penticton Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Association. In 1963, Dennis became a firefighter and served with the Penticton Fire Department for 25 years until his retirement in 1988. Dennis was also a huge house builder and enjoyed hobbies that included fishing, wood carving, building model boats and painting. 

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Norma Barbara, recently celebrated 69 years of marriage; sons Mike (Tammy), Andrew (Tracey), Glen (Trina); six grandchildren Christina (Tyson), Adam, Andrew, Alexandra (Justin), Devon, Ryder; and great grandson Jaxson.

Services will be held at the Providence Funeral Home located at 1258 Main Street, Penticton, BC on April 15, 2023, at 10:00 am.
