Elizabeth was pre-deceased by her husband Kenneth Shore Weir (1997) and young son Robert Allen Weir (1954). She is survived by daughter Joyce Ericson (Don) and son John Weir. She deeply loved her grandchildren, Krista Ericson, Robert Ericson (Beatriz Boizan), Ingrid Ericson and Steven Ericson. Also left behind to remember Nana fondly are great-grandchildren, Natsuko Murray, Stacey Peters, Louis Peter, Shy Peters, Jerico Peters, Jevon Haley, Kiersten Ericson and Elizabeth’s cousin Susie Dobre and extended family in Brasil.
Although she was a resident of McKinney Place for just a few weeks, she often praised the care given to her by staff. The family is grateful for the wonderful bedside support during her final hours. God bless you all.
Elizabeth was a talented musician whose world was filled with music. She often reminded us that she didn’t want a fancy service just a “hootenanny” that we could all enjoy. With that in mind, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene (523 Jermyn Avenue, Penticton) at 11:00 a.m. on September 2, 2023. Expect lots of music!
The family requests no flowers but for those wishing to remember her posthumously, please consider a donation in her name to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation’s new Oncology Department fundraising effort. As a cancer survivor, Elizabeth saw the need to have treatment closer to home.
