Gloria Thomas passed away on September 11, 2022 at Village by the Station in Penticton, BC.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; son, Robin (Star); daughter, Cheryl (Mark); 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gloria is predeceased by her sons, Kim and Dal; parents, Joe and Anna Sather; 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
She was born in Saskatchewan but moved to Penticton at a young age.
Gloria graduated Pen Hi in 1949 and went on to earn a Phys Ed degree from the University of Seattle. She was an outstanding athlete in gymnastics, water sports, archery and skiing. Her family built one of the first cabins at Apex.
She worked at her father’s shop in Kamloops for a time and was crowned Miss Kamloops during that time and was runner-up at the PNE Pageant.
Gloria taught the first Women’s Keep Fit classes, volunteered at many civic events, was an avid gardener and won awards for her beautiful garden.
