Harold Schmidt Obituary

Harold passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on January 24, 2024.

He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Marg, his children Debbie (Carlo) of North Vancouver and Dana of White Rock, and his grandson, Mitchell. He will also be missed by his sister Nancy, brother Dennis (Tina), nephew Corey, and niece Sherri. Harold was predeceased by his parents Walter and Lena, and granddaughter Riley.

He struggled valiantly and with astounding courage against a rare autoimmune disease.

Harold's career with B.C. Parks spanned 35 years, beginning in Terrace, followed by 4 years with park construction, and 31 years between Wells Gray, Cultus Lake, and Okanagan Regions.

Retiring in 1996, Harold enjoyed RVing in Canada and the USA, many cruises, several trips to Europe and other destinations. Mexico was the favourite, especially to his second home in Rincon de Guayabitos.

Harold was soft spoken, kind, and a genuine friend. He was a hard worker, a skilled craftsman, and a creative problem solver. He will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

Thank you to the Doctors and the Nurses at the Penticton Hospital for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of your choice. No service by request.
