Jeanette was born in Princeton, BC on July 24, 1937 to Fred and Blanche (nee LaBounty) Overton. She passed peacefully surrounded by family at Haven Hill Retirement Centre on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 after suffering years of dementia.
Jeanette married Samuel Joseph Biagioni in Penticton on January 14, 1956 and had two children. She was predeceased by her parents, former husband, Donald MacFadden and her sister, Sherrie Scott. She is survived by her husband, Robin (Butch) DeRoux; her daughter, Judi Feather (Dave) and her son, William Biagioni. She is also survived by her sisters, Helen (Jack), Doreen, Bonnie, Margaret (Ray) and Thelma (Bruce); brothers, Gene (Mickey) and Gerald; grandchildren, Christian, Sami, Matt and Sam; and great-grandchildren, April, Bryce, Billy, George, Cohen, Brooklyn, Abigayle, Connor and Chloe.
One of God’s most beautiful and caring souls, Jeanette’s life revolved around her faith and family. She constantly showed her kids the beauty of the world around them. She always had time for anyone in need or struggling in life, to listen without judgment. A courageous woman, she took a chance on a new career that would define her life. As a care aide she spent most of her career at Trinity Care Centre in Penticton until her retirement. Jeanette also enjoyed her annual trips to Hawaii with her sisters. Her home in the summer always became the “Family Inn.”
Jeanette began to experience dementia in 2011. Her husband, Robin cared for her daily in their home and continued daily after she entered Haven Hill until her passing.
Prayers were held on Friday October 15, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. and a Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, October 16, 2021at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 1296 Main Street, Penticton, BC. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
