Lucille (Van Der Vee) Eenkooren

Lucille Eenkooren (nee Van Der Vee) passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 into the loving arms of her Lord at the age of 88 years.

Predeceased by husband Simon Eenkooren and lovingly remembered by her sons and their families, Henry (Jeanette) Eenkooren of Quesnel, BC, Norman (Elizabeth), grandchildren Jacqueline, David and Michelle Eenkooren, and Jacqueline's fiancé, Marco Grond of Calgary, AB; Ron (Christa) and grandchildren Hannah, Simon, Tabitha and great grandson Yehia, and Ailsa Eenkooren of Surrey, BC; James (Julie) Eenkooren of Cold Lake, AB.

Lucille was born the third of four daughters to Oebele and Hiltje Van Der Veer in Garyp (Friesland) in the Netherlands.

Lucille became engaged to Simon Eenkooren at age 17 (not long after WWII ended). Simon immigrated to Lethbridge, AB and Lucille followed him about a year later where they were married. Simon's career with the F.W. Woolworth Company began in Lethbridge, AB then took the family to Calgary, AB and Trail, BC, with finally settling in Penticton, BC where Simon was the Manager of the Penticton Woolworth's store.

Lucille was the last and longest living member of her immediate family. She spoke and read in 3 languages, was an avid reader and loved her flower garden. She has 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Harrison Building, Elim Village for their loving care of Lucille in her last days.
