Born March 14th, 1936, passed peacefully on March 27th, 2024.
Mabel was predeceased by her parents, Maude and William Forrest; her sisters, Irene and Doreen; as well as her first grandchild, Alexis Johnson, who sadly passed earlier this year.
She leaves behind her children, Ralph ‘the favourite’ (Teresa), JoAnn, Owen, and Roger. As well as numerous grandchildren, Nicole, Sean (Rowena), Carl (Jackie), Justis (Kayla), and Bryce; great-grandchildren, Casandra, Brandon, Amber, Aden, and Damien; brothers, Doug (Lil), Don (Dorothy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mabel was born in a small town in Saskatchewan, moving to Penticion with her family as a small child. There she eventually met and married her husband Roy of 25 years. They settled in Summerland raising their children on an orchard/farm in Garnet Valley. Many summers were spent canning fruit and making pickles from her garden (The best dill pickles ever).
She was well known for her love of dancing, she also enjoyed playing both cribbage and bridge when she wasn’t out golfing or gardening. One of her favourite summertime activities was picnicking on the beach making her special potato salad - another favourite of her children.
Mabel was a loving, sweet, and funny lady who loved her family. She will truly be missed.
A Celebration of Life is to be held at 1:00 pm, on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, at Providence Funeral Chapel in Summerland. Come join us for coffee, tea and a snack to remember Mabel.
