Margaret Crozier Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Crozier (nee McIlraith), who died peacefully on May 18, 2021 at the Village at Smith Creek in West Kelowna, BC.  She was 81 years of age.

Margaret or “Maggie” as she was fondly called was predeceased by her loving husband, Clayton Crozier and will be lovingly missed by her stepdaughters, Carol Robblee (Rob Oldfield) and Colleen Crozier (Ron Nelson); her grandchildren, Scott Robblee (Chelsea) and Jennifer Swift (Joseph); and her great grandchildren, William and Nicholas Robblee and Alice, Sean and Emma Swift.  She leaves behind her siblings, William McIlraith (Anne) of Glasgow, Scotland, Joan Wilkinson (Robert) of Parksville, BC and Gilbert McIlraith (Donna) of Victoria, BC, and her brother in law, Hugh Crozier of Namao, AB and her many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was born in Port Glasgow, Scotland on May 28, 1940.  She immigrated with her family to Victoria, BC in 1960.  She made her way to Edmonton and worked at the U of A hospital as an Executive Secretary for Doctors Callaghan and Sterns for many years.  Margaret married Clayton Crozier on March 26, 1982 in Namao and they spent 35 wonderful years together.  They lived on the farm for 8 years before retiring to the Interior of BC where they lived in Osoyoos, Peachland and West Kelowna.  Margaret owned a place in Sun Lakes, Arizona where she and Clayton wintered for many years enjoying golfing with their many friends.  They loved to camp and took their van across Canada and the USA.  Margaret took great care of Clayton as he aged.  She drove the big motorhome through the mountains every summer so they could visit the family in Calgary and the Crozier farm in Namao where their many family and community friends would drop by to see them. Margaret made a lasting impression on the staff at the Village who loved her dearly. Safe travels “Maggie” as you make your final journey.

In lieu of flowers, please make any tributes to the Namao United Church or the Village at Smith Creek, Baptist Housing, 2425 Orlin Road, West Kelowna, BC, V4T 3C7.
