Martha Hnyda Obituary

Joan passed away peacefully at Penticton Hospital with her daughter, Angie, by her side. She waited for her youngest to see her off.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ed, in 2014. From the moment she saw Ed, while cruising Main Street in Penticton, she told her friend "I'm going to marry that man!" And on June 2, 1958, she did. Joan is now reunited with her first and only love.

Joan is also predeceased by parents, Martha and Robert Moses, and siblings Darrell, Marion, Guy, Bob, Audrey, Alec and twin brother, Jack.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debbie (Bill) Senger, Kathy (Steve) Clement, Teri Warner, Angie (John) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Andrea (Owen), Shaylon (Matt), Ashley (Lyndsay) and Michael (Kerri); great-grandsons, Ewan, Ciaran, Quinn, Thane, Thoren and Dominic. She will also be missed by many other dear family members and good friends.

Joan loved many things such as singing, playing cards and games, baking and camping, but above all else, she adored dogs, cats, really any animal that crossed her path.

She will be remembered for so much, including her strength, smile, sense of humour and laughter, stories and her cooking, especially her turkey stuffing and winter chili.

Her daughter Teri lovingly cared for her mom over the last 8 years, after her beloved Ed passed. Their mother-daughter relationship grew strong and devoted, and Teri will forever cherish the time she spent with her mom.

We would like to thank those who loved and cared for her at Trinity Care Centre for four years, as well the kindness and assistance we received from Providence Funeral Homes.

Mom would have gotten great pleasure and have been very grateful if anyone who wished it, wanted to donate a little something to an animal rescue of their choice.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
