Mildred June (Shouldice) Wakefield

Pastor Mildred J Wakefield went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus on August 20, 2021 at the age of 92 years.

Mildred was active in ministry for 72 years; 62 of which were in partnership with her beloved husband, Pastor Wesley H Wakefield.  Their years of ministry here in Canada, the USA, and briefly in West Africa, as well as the street ministry right here in Penticton, BC on Main and Nanaimo was her life’s calling.

Mildred loved much and she was loved. God Bless You! She will be remembered by many.

Mildred is predeceased by her father, Stanley Hobbs Shouldice in 1978; her mother, Ivah Bertha (Dunphy) Shouldice in 1979; her sister, Gwendolyn Blanche Cox in 2007; her brother, Stanley Patrick (Pat) Shouldice in 2010 and her nephew, Stanley Cox in 2019.

Mildred is survived by her beloved husband of almost 62 years, Wesley H Wakefield; her sister-in-law, Jane Shouldice; as well as many nephews and nieces and their families. She will be dearly missed.

Until we all meet again in the arms of Jesus.

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 523 Jermyn Avenue, Penticton, BC. Please phone the Nazarene Church office at 250-492-4028 to register as attendance is limited to 50 due to current Provincial Covid regulations.
