Patricia Ann Moroz

We are heartbroken to announce that Patricia Ann Moroz (née Martin) passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11th, 2022 with family by her side.

She is pre-deceased by her son Billy; her parents Elinor and Mervin Martin; and by her ex-husband Peter. She is survived by her sister Sue (Ron) Ciccone and brother Tom (Margie) Martin. Also her daughters Karen, Judy (Gordon), Donna, and Laura (Scott).

Patricia was born in Cumberland, Maryland on November 22nd, 1934. She was the eldest of three. She moved to Prince Rupert in grade 11 as her father was tasked with the creation of the new Cellulose Pulp Mill.

Upon graduation from high school, Patricia attended the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria to train as a Registered Nurse. While there, she made lifelong friends with whom she continued to meet all her life. Upon completion of nursing training and her return to Prince Rupert, she met Peter Moroz. She later married Peter and they had five children.

She enjoyed her time in Prince Rupert and had a great many close friendships.

In her later years, she re-trained to become an OR Nurse and moved to Summerland. Upon retirement, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, quilting and was a long-standing member of the Summerland Pottery Guild. Anything she put her hand to, she could do. She always had dogs and loved to walk them out in the woods behind her home.

Remembered for her warm heart, her determination, and her loving nature, she will be deeply missed by not only her children but also her nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the nurses and care aides of the first residential floor in Summerland Seniors Village for their excellent care and kindness to our mom during her final years.
