Reverend Cyril Palmer Obituary

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.”

                                                                                      Matthew 6:33 (New Living Translation)

Reverend Cyril Allen Palmer triumphantly passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ after a long and full life.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife Frances Palmer, on December 3, 2016.

He is survived by his sons:  Milford (Diane), Philip (Edith) and Allen (Holly) along with 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his youngest sister, Margaret Hazelton and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Milford and Helen Palmer and his brothers, Arthur, Arnold, and Elwood as well as sisters Vera and Iva.

Cyril was a loving and caring father to his family and devoted his life to their best interests. He was a devoted Christian, always genuine, but never “stuffy”.  He enjoyed time with family and friends in nature. His favourite pastimes outside of his ministry, were fishing and hunting.

Cyril was called to the ministry in 1942 and, after studies, served in the Church of the Nazarene in Maine, Vermont, Ontario, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. He was a devoted, loving, caring and kind pastor.  He related to those he served, holding their spiritual well-being as most important.

Cyril was a loving father and will be forever missed by his family. In keeping with his wishes, he will be laid to rest in Skowhegan, Maine with his wife Frances.

A Celebration of Life service will be held April 20, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at the Penticton Church of the Nazarene, 523 Jermyn Avenue.
