It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wm. Douglas Scoones at the age of 69. Doug passed away peacefully at the Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton, BC. Doug was surrounded by his family and friends prior to his passing.
Survived by his wife Penny; daughter Michelle (Justin); his three beautiful grandchildren, Kali, Aiylah, and Myles; niece Breanna and her son Matthew; and nephew Jeff (Sheri) and their children Ben, Cody, Bradley, and Alexis.
Predeceased by his father Paul Dalton, who was known as Jim, and his sister Maggie Scoones.
Doug was born on Salt Spring Island and raised in Vancouver. After graduating, Doug left the lower mainland and headed off to Alberta looking for work. After working and residing in Edmonton, AB, for a lengthy period, Doug returned to Vancouver in 1992 to continue working in the Graphic Supply Industry; a job he took great pride in. In his off-time, Doug took great joy in coaching his daughter's baseball team over several years. In 2004, Doug left the lower mainland to move to the Okanagan, where he and Penny purchased a home in Penticton as Doug continued working in the Graphic Supply Industry. Doug met many great people who became his friends along the way.
Doug will be missed by many - In honor of his memory, consider becoming an organ donor.
