John, Doug, Carolyn, Bruce, Kathy and families . I remember your Mom as a strong woman, in a sense the driving force behind getting work done. I remember being in Guides and helping with the Church tea and bake sale and your Mom was organizing making things happen. I remember raising money, (Kathy you may remember) for our band trip to Ottawa. Your Mom was there to make sure it went well. I have fond memories of lunches over the summers at your Moms. When I returned home for visits, your mom was still growing an over large garden and her generous gifts from her garden. I remember being invited for supper with my family and friends of ours who came through Kaslo (a family of 5). Your mom accepted us all for a meal. Over the years as my children have grown, she has always welcomed us to stay with her and we have always enjoyed our visits. One visit in Kaslo, she ran the seniors tea where my kids learned how to serve people. There are many memories, always very pleasant and wonderful.

I am not there today in person but my heart is there with all.

Janet

My life was enriched, living in Kaslo, with Alison as friend & St. Mark's church member. I've missed her ever since she left us bereft of her cheerful presence, & generous contributor of the blooming bounties of her flower garden, which graced our church all summer. How sad it's been to see her flower beds diminish in her absence from among us here.

What an inimitable spirit Alison showed us with her verve for life, her strength born from active living, hard labour, & community-mindedness. She's blessed all of us who've known her, & surely most of all you, her children & grands. You'll be grateful all the rest of your lives for her loving presence in your family, as I will be to remember her with thanksgiving. I'll be thinking of you all as you gather this Saturday to give thanks & to celebrate Alison's amazing, long life of service & love!
